In Preparation for the Wet Season
KNOW YOUR RISK, GET PREPARED & STAY INFORMED
Here are a few reminders to keep a peace of mind when coming into the wet season.
Know your risk – The coastal stretch between Exmouth and Broome has the highest incidence of cyclones anywhere in Australia. Cyclones not only bring destructive winds and flooding, but road/airport closures and food limitation.
Get Prepared – Have a plan ready for your household along with a list of things to do in the event of a cyclone warning. Secure any loose items around your property and have an emergency kit ready packed with the essentials including water, a battery operated torch, radio, cash and first aid kit.
Stay Informed – Keep up to date via Radio frequency, Bureau of Meteorology / DFES websites, Facebook or twitter.
